Accounting Specialist (Temp-to-Hire)
Location: Brea, CA
Pay Rate: $30–$32 per hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounting Specialist for our client in Brea. This temp-to-hire role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable duties, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is ready to contribute to a stable and growing company.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):

  • Handle three-way matching and processing of approximately 300 invoices monthly
  • Perform vendor reconciliation and follow up as needed
  • Prepare and execute weekly check runs (approximately 30 checks per week)
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor files, including W-9 forms and compliance documentation

Accounts Receivable (AR):

  • Review and verify customer payments to ensure correct matching to invoice price and quantity
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies promptly
  • Manage collections proactively by contacting customers, tracking aging reports, and setting up follow-up tasks
  • Deliver professional and courteous customer service to ensure timely payments

General Office Support:

  • Provide phone coverage as needed
  • Perform filing and scanning of documents
  • Support administrative tasks to keep accounting operations running smoothly

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting a plus
  • 2-3 years of prior experience with AP and AR functions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel; VLOOKUP and Pivot Table experience preferred
  • High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
