Full time direct hire job for a Buyer for a manufacturing company at Santa Ana, CA.

Buyer will be responsible for advanced purchasing and supply chain functions, and supply management.
Fulfills manufacturing material needs, selects suppliers, administers purchase orders, and negotiates agreements and contracts.
Expertly manages outside manufacturing and outside processing activities.
Brings advanced skill sets for the benefit of procurement team. Possesses well-rounded knowledge in materials planning, supply chain management, MRB, Inventory, and logistics.
Manages the entire business cycle, from solicitation, purchase order placement, confirmation, to invoice payment.
Resolves supplier quality issues through negotiation of settlements, on-site support, and development of work plans.
Supports new product development and new sales supply requirements.
Responsible for purchasing of raw material and/or finished goods with consistent quality, delivered on-time, and at most competitive cost. Establishes and maintains accurate lead times.
Utilizes the MRP based ERP system for the generation of material needs, shortages, reorder points, min/max, order quantities, exceptions, timing, standard lead-times, preferred supplier, etc.
Purchases parts, equipment, and materials by preparing requests for quotation and placing purchase orders with approved suppliers. Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers. Maintains accurate delivery dates within the ERP system.
Evaluates bids for standard and non-standard items. Selects suppliers for a variety of materials, supplies or services and negotiates favorable price, delivery, quality and service.
Monitors and evaluates supplier performance. Advises management and the team of impending supplier failure to fulfill contractual agreements that may delay production or customer deliveries. Facilitates SCARs to suppliers who are not performing to expected levels or who provide discrepant work.
Manages day to day rejected material discrepancy reports to ensure timely return of material. Promptly communicates NCMs with suppliers and seeks corrective actions. Resolves shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues.
Monitors supplier on time delivery and quality levels to develop plans for continuous improvement of overall supplier performance.
Works with Quality Assurance and supplier son NCMRs, SCARs, and CAPAs. Helps resolve supplier quality issues expeditiously.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or Purchasing, or Technical related field or a combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field. Advanced MRP knowledge required.
5 + years of experience in supply management.
Strong knowledge of purchasing and negotiating techniques, principles and concepts
Extensive experience in industrial purchasing of castings, machined parts, and other components in the US and the global market. Strong OSM/OSP experience required.
Demonstrated strong MRP and/or S&OP experience required.
Knowledge of industry practices, general business operations and policies and procedures.
Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
General knowledge and ability to apply continuous improvement techniques to purchasing and related areas.
Ability to effectively communicate and present information to suppliers, team members, team leaders and top management.
Ability to use technology and analysis tools (MS-Office, web databases, and ERP systems)
